Major Train Derailment in Jharkhand Injures 12
Early this morning, the Howrah-CSMT Express train bound for Mumbai derailed near Badabamboo in Jharkhand, roughly 80 km from Jamshedpur. The derailment caused 18 coaches to go off the tracks, injuring 12 passengers. Railways' medical teams quickly administered first aid, and the injured were transported to Chakradharpur for further treatment.
The derailment, which occurred at approximately 3:43 am, involved 16 passenger coaches, one power car, and one pantry car. Senior Railway official Om Prakash Charan mentioned that a nearby goods train had also derailed, though it remains unclear if the incidents are related.
Rescue and relief operations commenced immediately, with Railway officials working to determine the cause of the derailment. Preliminary reports suggest that the derailment of the goods train, traveling on the opposite track, may have impacted the passenger train.
